Finance Director - Sam Durham

Samantha “Sam” Durham is the Finance Director for the City of Diboll where she assists the City Manager in all areas of budgeting, financials, grants, and in the monitoring of internal control procedures, to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. 

 

Sam Durham moved to the Diboll area in the fall of 2014 after marrying her husband, Melvin Durham Jr. who is a long-time Piney Woods resident and small business owner. Together they have one son and consider Diboll a great place for families.   Outside of work, Sam enjoys the outdoors and spending time with her family, friends, and various pets and farm animals. 

 

Prior to joining the City of Diboll team, she was the Director of Finance and Operations for Scarlett Holdings, LLC, a subsidiary of Princess Three Operating, in Tyler Texas. Sam Durham has over 15-years of experience in financial and operational management and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, with a specialization in Finance from the University of Texas at Tyler, Summa Cum Laude.  

 

Sam joined the City of Diboll in June 2019 and received the Certified Public Manager designation in June 2021 and the Certified Government Financial Officer designation in November 2021
